Currently based out of North Carolina, Symphonic Pulse Percussion is an innovative name in modern percussion specializing in private instruction, custom arranging and composition services, staffing and consulting services, and stick/mallet retail.

Brockton Conwell - Owner / Founder

A passionate percussionist and native of North Carolina, Brockton has been playing drums ever since he could put his fingers around a stick. He is in-demand as educator and has performed and attended clinics regarding various fields of music and percussion throughout the United States. 

Brockton has been privileged to have had the opportunity to study with many great percussionists including Mark Ford, Paul Rennick, Christopher Deane, Jose Aponte, Dave Hall, Lealather Mayers, Rick Dior, Leonardo Soto, Chris Hestin and others. As an arranger, his compositions have been performed by concert and marching percussion ensembles across the nation. He is the owner and founder of Symphonic Pulse Percussion, an innovative name in modern percussion specializing in private instruction. Most recently, he co-authored a method book, One Chance, dedicated to the art of sight-reading.

He is currently pursuing his Undergraduate degree at the University of North Texas in Music Education and Classical Percussion where he has been a member of the UNT Percussion Ensemble, Concert Band, Steel Drum Band, Afro-Cuban Ensemble, and Green Brigade Marching Band Drumline. In addition to his major, he is also pursuing minors in both Music Theory and Business Entrepreneurship.

As a performer, Brockton has marched for the DCI World Class Finalist - Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps and the Independent World Class WGI ensemble -  Palmetto Percussion (2010 PIO Gold Medalist). He is also a former cast member of Official NFL Drumline of the Carolina Panthers. He's a member of the Percussive Arts Society (PAS), National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM), endorses Evans Drumheads through the Regional Artists Management Program, and is a member of the Vic Firth education team. Outside of his percussive life, Brockton can be found eating some great food or enjoying a Starbucks coffee.

Quickly becoming a nationally recognized name in the industry, Will is a freelance percussionist also pursuing his career as a music educator and composer/arranger. He began his percussive career at South Mecklenburg High School, where he developed a reputation of excellence while performing in a multitude of youth ensembles and professional  groups. 

He currently studies at North Carolina School of the Arts with John Beck. At UNCSA, Will has performed with the Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble as well as several student-run jazz combos.

Will has been on tours around the country to learn different percussion techniques in master class and clinic settings with some of the world's most respected musicians. He has attended several summer seminars at prestigious universities including the Juilliard School, Northwestern University, the University of North Texas, the University of Louisville, Appalachian State University, etc. He has studied privately with Rick Dior, a prominent instructor in the Southeast for drum set and world percussion. When not busy with music, Will can often be found playing a game of chess.
